Setting your own gold standard
Do you hold yourself accountable to achieve a certain level of performance each day or week?
I have some daily non-negotiables for myself. Tasks I set that, in most senses are arbitrary, but keep me accountable and disciplined.
I try to reach 10,000 steps every day - regardless of rain, heat, hail or wind. Why 10k? It's just a figure really but it's a benchmark.
I also aim to have at least 3 litres of water a day and with that no "liquid calories", whether in the form of coffee, juice or alcohol. That's not to say that every now and again I don't have a big old hot chocolate or glass of red wine.
For an entirely different part of my life I also aim to get home to pick up my daughter by 4pm at least 3 days in a week.
I find setting these guiding principles work for me and my biology but I'm not saying that it will work for you too and that you should try it, perhaps it'll just help give you a little something to work on.
Until next time.
